Finished Ace Combat 8 tonight, and it earned the ending. The series has always known exactly what it is, but this one tightened the formula without losing the spectacle: the missions hit harder, the story landed better, and the flying felt as good as it ever has. Easily the best entry in the series so far. I’m already a little sorry it’s over.
