A quiet day, and welcome for it. I started a new Ace Combat 8 campaign on easy mode, purely for the fun of it, no interest this time in grinding through the harder settings. There is still nothing quite like it for scratching the Top Gun itch, the canopy glass, the chatter, the sense of being somewhere dangerous and competent at once. The one real task of the day was mundane but overdue: I finally cleaned out the dryer vent, which had needed doing for longer than I want to admit. Small jobs like that have a way of sitting unfinished until they don’t, and then the relief is out of proportion to the effort.
