With Apple extorting Patreon on the app store, I’ve been thinking about the long-term Fiber Club business model. Liza and I have always envisioned the project as a project that is not profit driven, a pure passion project. We obviously would rather not lose money, and we would like to earn money to benefit the community, but profit for us is not a motivation. Unfortunately, it’s not the way the world works. I do wonder if the App Store is a large enough sales funnel for Patreon that they’re willing to cave to Apple. Sounds like they should just pull their app from the App Store. The reason Apple extorts everyone is because everyone caves. We need government regulation here.
