The planetarium was fun. Got to meet Stephanie’s mom, Sabrina. I learned about the effects of satellites and light pollution on stargazing. It’s a bigger problem than I thought. Apparently the FCC is the agency regulating companies like SpaceX, and they only care about telecommunications, not about light pollution, so the problem is likely to get worse. Which sucks because our learning of physics and the universe comes from stargazing. Add it to the bucket of problems that the world has to solve. Yay, planet. But despite the gloom and doom, it was a lot of fun and the highlight of my night was watching little kids become very excited at looking at the cosmos. Very cute and brings joy to my heart.
For today I’m hoping to make progress on a little technical mystery at work, run some 1-on-1 meetings, do some project planning, and that should be good. I’m hoping to catch up to Fiber Club work, and maybe add some more Korean phrases as Anki cards. If I do all that, I would call it a good day. If I call it a good day, I get to play Crusader Kings, haha. Can’t have fun until all the work is done. Such are the adulting joys. Take me back to being a 12 year old, please.
