Today was annoying. Just a lot of non-stop meetings. Felt like nothing was getting done. I know that’s probably something I need to get used to, but I’m so used to being the person doing the work. The rest of the week will be like that. Lame. At least I have Friday to look forward to. I will be doing my team celebration on Friday. That should be a lot of fun.
I did do a couple things that I enjoyed. I’m talking during the All Hands on Thursday. I get to tell people about President’s Club, what I did to qualify, and what others can do to qualify for it next year.
The other cool thing I did was a Python script to automate managing my employees. Right now it keeps track of time-off requests, projects worked on, and team statistics around code reviews. I’m not sure if I will share this script with people. I worry that people will take it the wrong way. I just want to be objective when talking to people and really the motivation is that some people are taking too little time off, so I want to use this to encourage people to request more time off if they want.
Liza treated me to Japanese food, and Miguel is back doing a lot of construction in my backyard. I can’t believe the flood aftermath is not over.
