I apparently alternate between writing these journal entries as either the first thing I do in the morning or the last thing I do in the day. Today is the latter.
One of my favorite things about the Champions League is that it always airs during lunch time at work. So of course I watch it. It was a great match between Bayern Munich and Real Madrid. The 2-2 felt more like a loss for Bayern. At this point, I would be surprised if we don’t see Real Madrid in the final. Tomorrow I get to see Borussia Dortmund vs PSG. Unfortunately I have a meeting at 1pm that I cannot miss. It’s fine though. PSG are the favorites by far.
I’m having a great time in my new role as an Engineering Manager. Had a great 1-1 with my manager and confirmed I am on track with everything. So far, the role feels very natural. There are aspects of the job that are not so fun, but not too many. My reports seem to like me, my boss seems to like me, and I feel like I’m making a positive impact in the company.
I finished my Tailwind course. I mentioned in another journal entry that I feel like I’ve mastered the framework. Well, maybe mastered is a bit much, but I’m certainly “fluent” and proficient in it now to the point I could teach it to others, I think. Too bad I don’t use it at Chatmeter, but I certainly use these skills for Fiber Club. End.
