Well, I finished in fourth at the hackathon, which is lame because it has no prize. But that’s ok. I’ll still argue I squashed some of the most difficult bugs. The person that got first prize basically spent their entire day closing tickets as no work needed.
Other than that, today was quite productive. Some highlights:
* Diagnosed a database performance issue and created a plan for tackling it.
* Helped two of my direct reports complete their work.
* Helped data science with their analysis of social responses.
* Helped the Product owner plan the next sprint.
* Organized a team party / celebration for all the work we’ve been crushing.
Tomorrow I’ll be presenting a report to my boss on my 15/30/60/90 day goals. In short, I’ll be telling him I accomplished all of them in 30 days :). Which is great.
Fiber Club work is proceeding nicely as well. I think I came up with a design that will work to tackle the sizing issue. I think it will set us apart from the competitors since nobody will be collecting data the way we will. It will allow for higher quality listings and data, which is key to our vision of the platform.
Tomorrow is Mother’s Day in Mexico. I have to remember to call my grandma. Anyway, that’s it. Looking forward to the weekend!
